The savannah is the great stage on which nature acts. From The Lawford you can easily reach the Tsavo National Park which, with its 12,000 km is the largest in Africa. The eastern part, near the Aruba dam, is the ideal one for spotting the “Big Five” (lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and buffalos) as well as zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, crocodiles and many other animals to discover the strongest and most fascinating side of Africa.
Recommended periods: July-November and January-March.
At one point, north of Tsavo West, the water from the hills runs under the lava crust and forms several natural pools. These are the Mzima Spring waterfalls, as unmissable as the famous Shetani lava flow (which in Swahili means devil), a bed of lava about 8 km long which houses, in the center, a cave of geological interest.
Recommended periods: July-November and January-March.
People who visit Kenya cannot miss the Masai Mara Reserve. In addition to the many savannah animals and a wide variety of birds, the reserve boasts the largest concentration of African lions, including those with black manes.
Every year, between July and October, you can witness the fascinating migration of wildebeests, zebras and antelopes from the Serengeti Park. The Masai Mara is easily accessible by plane from both Malindi airport and Nairobi airports (Jomo Kenyatta airport or Wilson airport)
Recommended periods: July-November and January-March.
